THERESA MITCHELLRunning Coach
Hello, I am Theresa Mitchell. First and foremost, I am a wife and a mother. I moved to Fort Myers in 1982. I later became a State of Florida swimming pool contractor and have the privilege of creating backyard environments in Lee and Collier County.
I have been very active in our community, over the past 35 years, sponsoring many local running races, events, and scholarships. I have always been very passionate about health, nutrition, and fitness. One of my favorite ways to boost my mental and physical health is running and strength training. It has provided an outlet for stress relief, and improved overall happiness. I started running in 2011 and participated in my first half marathon at age 43. Since then, I have run 4 half marathons and 6 full marathons. I qualified for the Boston Marathon 5 times. In 2019, I got to experience the Boston Marathon, one of the hardest things I have ever accomplished, but the most gratifying. In 2022, I ran my fastest marathon at the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, placing 2nd missing 1st place by 4 seconds (age 54). I have proved to myself that with consistency, commitment, and perseverance that age has no boundary on your level of success. I believe it takes a village to train for a race, raise a family, and obtain success. I always hope to be an inspiration to those around me.
